Me
Pop! my eyes opened I turned toward my calender realizing it was Thursday May the 6th. I trotted downstairs and plopped down in my chair and picked up my summer activities or school as known to my 4 year old little brother a "G-Force" fanatic!!! Soon my mom came down stairs and I ate my frosted wheat cereal. We were working as my mom spread mulch, in our backyard. The day went on normal as we went to violin practice, and back home to pull our camper back home Because we were going to get fixed tomorrow. We were pulling the camper around to park as Carter, who is 10 spotted a fuzzy baby bird, under our Arbor Vitae tree. Immediately I jumped out of my seat as soon as I heard the news. I jumped out of my seat, and raced toward the tree to notice the shivering baby bird. I told mom and she grabbed the ladder but I told her to go put it back. I showed my cousin Abby and she thought it was very cute. Suddenly I had an idea to call my Grandma or my Great Aunt and ask if it is Okay to keep it. I got a hold of my Great Aunt who thought it was Okay to try to feed him we named him Thumper and put him in my dogs old food bowl with some dried grass and set him in my garage with a lamp. My mom feed him some water and chicken with a straw and we left him there to sleep. I was very excited and slept very good that night! That night mom told me the next day we would have to find him some worms. GROSS!!!!!!
Chapter 2
Thumper
The next morning I woke up and raced downstairs and into the garage and checked on Thumper who was fast asleep in his straw nest. I woke him up to feed him water with a blue straw that mom had used the night before. I went into the kitchen and grabbed some chicken to feed him. I pranced back very happy that MY bird was alive and Lively! I fed him the chicken which didn't work I stuck it in way to far although he did stand up long enough to grab the straw! When mom came down I reminded her that we needed to feed him worms. She told me that we needed to eat breakfast first. After breakfast mom and I went outside in the front yard and dug up 8-10 worms. And raced inside to feed him he ate them greedily as if he had not had food for 100 days I found it funny as mom cut up worms with a plastic fork on a plastic bag she screamed as it squished. He enjoyed it alot! Later I called my friends Mikael and Georgia and asked if they would come and look at him to see if he was okay. Mikael came down and and brought us some meat to feed him. She found that he was okay and raced home. We were preparing to put him back when suddenly mom saw that Thumper's brother was dead and his parents were gone. She screamed to me the bird is yours! What! Imagine that I have a bird!I raced back in and told Thumper but I don't think Thumper approved. I ate lunch and prepared to feed Thumper his Lunch before going to a pictures at our church.
Chapter 3
Missing Thumper
It is hard when you are stuck to a baby bird and can't get away from him. That was the whole story at the pictures. We watched movies and ate snacks but that was not enough to keep my mind off Thumper. It got very excited when I got home. I was able to feed him more worms the meal worms because we stopped by my Grandma's house as she bought meal worms. He loved them and ate them greedily. We worked hard to feed him and even showed my neighbor. She was amazed how I fed Thumper those worms which I cut up myself! I don't like worms so it was very strange that I was cutting up worms! We went to "Dave's" to celebrate mothers day I did not like Dave's either. I got nervous about him all alone by himself I hoped he was okay. We finished and I fed Thumper again and now he was doing really well. He ate more as I read him another book he found this fun. I loved to read him books too! I took my shower and ran downstairs to check on him. He was fine. I told him how much I loved him and ran inside and ate my snack and checked on him and said goodnight and I ran upstairs, to go to bed and I brushed my teeth and listened to Jonathan Park, Carter and I favorite radio series we listened carefully as I knitted something I just never know what! It is all just how I am. I admit it I love to knit! I slept well and waited to go get Thumper!
Chapter 4
Baby birds LOVE to eat worms!
Well the title says it all Thumper LOVES worms we went out twice to go and grab 20 worms in total from the two trips combined he also ate 10 meal worms combined geeze can that bird eat or what I did not mind though! His breathing seamed abit strange to me as of it seemed struggling like I feed him and he seemed fine. It was Saturday the second Saturday of the month to be precise! Which means that it is time for quilting class today I stayed home just like my mom told me to, and went to Tyler's soccer game instead but it didn't really mater because she came back little bit after the game started! We stayed there till the game was finished. And we headed to Lowe's were we built a mothers day present and planted little flowers in it. We came home and dad told Carter to take out Lucas(our small little Mini Aussie), just so I could care for the bird well that was pretty weired. I ran over to him who quickly realized "Wow I am suddenly hungry for no reason at all!" and opened his mouth as wide as he possibly could and chirped greedily. Sometimes it seemed as if he were talking to me. He really had a big personality! Even for a bird! Well I feed him the worms which he swallowed whole and begged for more. I read him the Soon I will which I think gave him the idea! He was very polite too! I feed him worm after worm for the entire day which he devoured every time. He slept alot more than a human baby would have slept in one week! He was so sweet I feed him and took my shower but that was it.
Chapter 5
He's gone?
I twisted and turned deep in a terrifying dream. Snap! my eyes opened and I had had a dream about Thumper who in the dream had died and boy should I have been prepared. I popped the door open which my parents heared and as I was halfway down the stair mom told me to wait and I did she told me
" Thumper died last night"
"What! He's gone!" He can't be!" I said protesting her idea I did not believe her but I should have! We buried him in the bottom of the playground. in his nest. I still miss him alot but I am still happy through the day. Nothing seemed the same without him.
